Even though most of the time the 'burgh seems like a world of its own, we're actually very connected. Pittsburgh is located within 500 miles of more than half of the US population.
As a life-long voracious reader, I'm always surprised how often my home town of Wheeling, WV shows up in books. Just what is it about this strange little backwater that authors find intriguing? I thought I would share this incomplete, esoteric, and sporadically updated list of references to Wheeling I come across in literature.
